4th to 6th November 2016
Mannheim Baroque Palace East Wing
Over the last years, ClipAward has become firmly established as an important platform for independent filmmakers in the international short film scene. The unique concept addresses filmmakers who have a tight (or no) budget to complete their production but who more than make up for that with commitment and devotion. This non-commercial festival brings the most diverse works onto the screen in various categories. The festival focusses on the four main categories YOUNG SHORT, MUSICVIDEO COMPETITION, INTERNATIONAL COMPETETION and GREAT SHORT FILM COMPETITION.
In line with motto "Everything is allowed - as long as it is inexpensive and short", the festival program comprises shorts which were produced with a maximum budget of 500€ per minute and do not exceed 15 minutes. Furthermore, the submitted films must not have been produced within the context of a university course.
The festival weekend features inspiring, inventive, clever and distinctive short film jewels and is rounded off by workshops, live music and the trash brunch which has become a tradition by now. This year, too, ClipAward intends to cooperate with one of Mannheim's partner cities' filmfestivals. The international focus opens up new ways of artistic expressions and gives young talents an international stage.
The ClipAward short film festival started out as a one-day event in 2006 and has developed into an international short film festival since then, with a large offer of cultural highlights and multi-faceted workshops. The festival has become an integral part of the cultural landscape of Mannheim by now.
